The House

We built a house for the hours the city forgot.

Not the hour of the workout, with its mirrors and its music, and not the hour of the drink, with its noise and its morning after. The hour in between. The one where you need to come down from the day, and you would rather not do it alone.

So we made a place out of real things. Concrete that shows the grain of the boards that formed it. Wood that has been through fire. Bronze that will darken as you do. Water at two temperatures and a room between them where nobody is looking at a screen.

We believe in heat and cold, in stretch and stillness, in science stated plainly and in silence kept properly. We believe recovery is not a reward for effort but the thing that makes effort possible. And we believe the best thing that can happen to you in a room is another person.

So come as you are. Take the round. Sit in the dark with a glass of something good for you. Talk, or do not.

You will leave lighter than you came, and you will not leave alone.

This is LE VŌN HOUSE. Restoration, beautifully hosted.

The principles

  1. 01

    Elemental Precision

If it is not made of something real, it is not LE VŌN HOUSE.

  2. 02

    Restrained Luxury

If it needs decoration to feel expensive, it is not LE VŌN HOUSE.

  3. 03

    Functional Transition

If it does not change the state you arrived in, it is not LE VŌN HOUSE.

  4. 04

    Hosted Connection

If nobody knows your name, it is not LE VŌN HOUSE.

  5. 05

    Science Stated Plainly

One number, one mechanism, no hedging.

The Steam Room

Heat

15 minutes at 185 degrees raises core temperature and heart rate the way moderate exercise does. Blood vessels widen, blood flow to the skin and muscle increases, and the body releases heat-shock proteins that help cells repair.

Cold

2 minutes at 45 degrees does the opposite: vessels narrow, blood moves to the core, and the nervous system shifts hard toward alert. Warming back up afterward drives fresh blood through muscle. The alternation, not either temperature alone, is the point of the Round.

Movement and rest

45 minutes of movement in a dark room, then 10 minutes on a daybed with nothing asked of you, trains the body to switch between effort and recovery on purpose. That switch is what most people have lost by Thursday.
